Each place has something unique to offer when we talk in terms of food. Rajasthan offers a rich variety of delicacies for every palate. Similarly these sweets in Rajasthan tops the list among all others.
Rajasthan is popular for its mouth watering dishes and sweets.
I mean even if you find the same sweets outside of Rajasthan, the taste won’t be anything compared to the taste which you get here.
Table of contents
If we talk about Rajasthan, it is famous for many delectable dishes and sweets. There are many dishes which you must try out when you are here.
Is you ask, which is the best sweet of Jaipur or Jodhpur, Bikaner, Ajmer or for that matter in any corner of Rajasthan. The answer will be the same.
So which city is famous for sweets in Rajasthan
The best sweets in Rajasthan can be found in Jodhpur, Bikaner, Jaipur or Nagaur. These sweets can be easily found on any of the sweet shop.
In case you want the best one, you can ask any of the local guy in any of the city in Rajasthan. And he will guide you to the best sweet shop of that city. It’s that easy.
Or the other way to find out the best shop of sweets in Rajasthan is, by looking at the long queue of customers in or outside the shop.
I am sure that you might have come across many sweets varieties from Rajasthan. Even if you search in google, you will get a long list of sweets that are famous over here.
But these sweets I am mentioning are best in taste and easily available at any sweets shop in state.
Although there are many sweets which should be savoured, but I have narrowed down the list as much as possible. Today, we bring you the list of 5 best sweets found mostly in Rajasthan.
Kaju Katli
Kaju katli is the sweet you will get probably in each and every corner of India. That’s true, but the unique taste of Kaaju katli from Rajasthan is something you will never forget and won’t get anywhere else in the world.
This dessert is made up of Cashew nuts and sugar syrup. Typically Kaju Katli is prepared in Indian homes during festivals like Diwali, holi, Rakshabandhan etc.
But in Rajasthan it can be found during any season and any month of the year, yet maintaining same taste and quality.

Rabri ke Ghevar
Rabri ke ghevar is extremely delicious sweet which is made up with the sweet cream of milk, Saffron, plain flour and ghee. Actually this is my favourite sweet dish.
Usually the ghevar is prepared on traditional occasions like Makar Sankranti or other festivals occurring during winter season. If you go to attend some Rajasthani marriage during winter season , you will definitely find Rabri ke ghevar in their sweet stalls.
These Ghevars are really so soft and tasty that as soon you put it into your mouth, it will get dissolved in the mouth giving you the immediate sense of pleasure. It is sometimes referred as the national sweet of Rajasthan.
The best recipe for Rabri ghevar I could find is from Tarla Dalal.
Mawa Kachori
Mawa kachori can be found in most parts of India now a days. Jodhpuri Mava kachori is really famous in all over Rajasthan. The outer crust of kachori is similar to other kachoris. But inside of the Kachori is filled with sweetened mawa , khoya and dry fruit mixture.
The mawa kachori is then served with sugar syrup. It looks so very delicious an is really so delish that once it is served, it will be gobbled up in no time.
Malpua
Malpua is more like pancakes in Indian format. Malpua is prepared with refined flour, milk, khoya, and a few more ingredients which are easily found in the kitchen.
Usually Malpua is deep fried in the ghee and then dipped in the sugar syrup for its sweetness. No matter how crispy they are from outside, they are really sweet and smothering from inside.
That’s why if you are having fresh hot Malpua, they will melt away in your mouth in no time.
Balu shahi
Balu shahi is similar to donuts. The difference is that donuts are soft from outside and stuffed from inside.
While Balu shahi is soft and crispy together which gives a delightful experience when put in mouth.
This sweet can be purchased from any sweet shop or it can be prepared at home too. The thing is that when preparing at home, it is a bit time consuming. But makes the efforts worth of made correctly.
Where to get these sweets
If you are in Jodhpur, “Janta Sweet Home” is the best place that I know of. The quality of sweets as well as other snacks available here is just amazing.
While in Bikaner, “Chhotu Motu sweets shop” near the Railway station is the shop with the most delicious sweets.
If you are in Nagaur, “Jaigopal Chhaganlal Sweets” next to railway station is the perfect shop to try these luscious sweets.
